Your classic car is your pride and joy! Good looks and powerful, but that wimpy, obsolete AM radio has to
go! Imagine if the factory designers offered a modern upgrade. Radio looks original but offers modern
performance, ruggedness, and reliabiliy. MADE IN USA!
That’s EXACTLY what we offer! Aurora Design has built factory components for
decades -- yes, your family hauler likely includes their components. An Engineer
approached me one day with the idea of upgrading the vintage radios, and the FMR
Stereo Receiver was born!
In the dash you can’t tell by looking -- it’s original. But turn it on and
you’ll be amazed! AM/FM Stereo with up to 180 watts RMS (45x4)
full fidelity. Controls and presets operate as before. AM/FM switching
is performed by turning the set off and immediately back on. Other
adjustments such as balance are easy to adjust with the help of Voice
Assist. Of course if your original set has these, they operate normally.
Wonderbar? Yes, with an added Scan feature. Don’t have 4 speakers?
No sweat, you can configure for 1, 2, or even 3, and change your mind

Want Bluetooth? Available options include SMART Bluetooth, plus digital HD Radio, and several other
features -- some of which you’ll be hard-pressed to find ANYWHERE else!

The set need not be working for conversion. However it should be relatively clean, and it
should work physically -- tuning knob moves the dial, pushbuttons can be set, etc. If in doubt,
call.

Conversions are built for 12 volt negative ground. For older 6v and/or positive that have not
been converted, an HPC Power Booster is required. See the options below.

HD Radio: Digital radio can now be heard on the AM and FM broadcast
bands! AM stations have FM quality, FM is CD quality, and there’s a whole new
world of digital FM stations not receivable with a conventional radio. Plus, just like
AM and FM, it’s free; no subscriptions required. The Aurora FMR-DRH1 Module
provides HD Radio; the FMR-DRD1 offers DAB/DAB+ reception for overseas
reception.

CM-1 Courtesy Module: Most modern vehicles have a feature where the radio remains on
after you shut off the motor. It continues playing for several minutes, or until you open the door.
With the CM-1 Module you can have this feature in your classic! Installation involves only two
additional connections, to the battery and to the door switch. Price: $75
HPC Power Booster: For pre-1956 vehicles and certain foreign models that do
not use standard 12 volt negative ground power. This is installed inside your radio to
provide the correct power. Due to power limitations (of the car’s original generator!) we
recommend 2 speakers or less using this arrangement. NOT REQUIRED if your vehicle
has been converted to 12v negative. Price: $100
Tube Emulation: For original tube-era radios! For that nostalgic feel, or for those nit-picky judges, When
you turn the radio on you’ll hear a vibrator buzz, and the radio will “warm up” in about 15 seconds. There are three
settings and you can change them at will: Vibrator warm-up, non-vibrator warm-up, or instant on. Price: $20
Auto Volume Control: For 1957 Thunderbird which originally had this feature. Volume adjusts
automatically with engine RPM. Requires original ignition. Price: $20
VOX Input Mode: This is a no-cost option, for the LINE IN audio jack that is included with every
conversion. The most reliable way to access Input Mode is to move the tuning dial to the far left. However
optionally, we can configure it so it switches automatically whenever it hears an audio signal. If silent for 20
seconds the radio resumes. This mode is required for early 50’s Cadillacs that do not provide for manual tuning..

Audio Input Jack: Good news, no extra charge, every FMR Conversion gets one! Connect an
audio cord from the LINE IN jack to the glove compartment for convenience, and you can play
any suitable media player through the stereo. To select input mode simply tune the dial to full
left. Or if you select the VOX option it will switch whenever the device starts playing.
Bluetooth -- BTL: This is a FULL Bluetooth 5.0. You can stream music from your phone or player, make
hands-free calls, and use SIRI or similar features for navigation ond other tasks. We include a microphone with every
Bluetooth module. Price: $170
Bluetooth -- BTL Smart: Includes all Bluetooth features PLUS the ability to connect with an FMR Connect
app iPhone or Android). The app makes it easy to make adjustments such as trenle and bass, plus change settings, all
in real time. VERY HANDY! (Not available with HD Radio) Price: $200
Bluetooth -- BTU Smart: Includes all the above, plus a USB dongle that allows you to play nusic or podcasts
directly from a flash drive, or keep your phone charged while streaming. Price: $260
